Store Policies

Draft policy language for WooCommerce products, custom work, quote approvals, shipping, returns, and warranty handling.

These policies are written for review before the store goes live. Final language should match the actual WooCommerce settings, payment process, shipping options, and order workflow used on the new server.

Custom Products and Quote Approval

Many Hewitt Emergency Services products are made to order or tied to a specific vehicle, piece of equipment, mounting surface, finish, or installation need. Product listings, cart totals, and checkout details should be reviewed as estimates until Hewitt Emergency Services confirms fitment, scope, lead time, and availability.

Pricing, Deposits, and Changes

Prices, deposits, and balances should be confirmed before work begins or an order is released. Custom work may require a deposit. Changes requested after design, fabrication, ordering, or scheduling may affect price, timeline, and availability.

Lead Times

Lead times depend on current workload, parts availability, materials, finish work, customer approvals, vehicle access, fire season demands, and shipping availability. Any lead time shown online should be treated as an estimate unless confirmed in writing.

Shipping, Pickup, and Installation

Some products may ship by parcel carrier, while larger or custom items may require freight, pickup, delivery, or installation. Shipping costs, carrier selection, packaging, insurance, and delivery details should be confirmed before checkout is made live.

Returns and Cancellations

Stock items may be eligible for return only if unused, undamaged, and approved in advance. Custom, modified, installed, fabricated, electrical, special-order, or made-to-fit items may not be returnable once work has started, materials have been ordered, or the item has shipped.

Warranty and Fitment

Warranty handling should be reviewed by item and project type. Customer-provided equipment, existing vehicle wiring, third-party accessories, misuse, improper installation by others, damage, or vehicle changes may affect coverage. Fitment details should be confirmed before ordering.

Before Going Live

  • Confirm which products can be purchased directly and which require a quote.
  • Add final product prices, tax status, inventory status, and shipping classes.
  • Set WooCommerce privacy, terms, return, refund, and customer email settings.
  • Test checkout with payment test mode before accepting real orders.
